Difference between Aakash Tablet and Ubislate 7:
Aakash Tablet is the tablet given to the students by respective universities after Government subsidy price. i.e . at Rs,1,200/-.
Ubislate 7 is the commercial version of the Aakash tablet for everyone at the price of Rs,2,500/- available at Ubislate.com. You have to book the commercial tablet through Ubislate.com or Ncarry.com. However, this version is not available at present, so you have to pre-book Ubislate 7+.

According to the sources, Datawind is misleading the people by changing the name of Aakash Tablet as Aakash Ubislate 7 on their official website. When complaints raised by the users who have purchased Aakash Tablet, IIT-Rajasthan came with upgraded specifications and features for Aakash Tablet which is now popularly know as 'Aakash 2 Tablet'. Datwind noticed this and manufactured a new tablet with some minor changes and named it as Aakash Upgraded version which is also known as Ubislate 7+. The Indian Government also slammed the company for selling the upgraded version of Aakash Tablet (Ubislate 7+) on their website without notifying them. However, things were solved later.
Recently , HRD Minister said, the government require more 22 crore Aakash Tablets in future to provide all universities across the country. Also, said these 22 crore Aakash tablets will be upgraded version called Aakash 2 Tablet which will be released by April 2012 at the same price.
